Frequently asked questions
Why is a freelance day rate so much higher than a salary?
Because an employee is paid for holidays, sickness and every hour of admin, and their employer pays for the desk, the software, the insurance and half the social contributions. A freelance rate has to cover all of that out of the days actually billed, which for most people is well under two hundred a year.
How exact is it?
The arithmetic is exact and rounded the way money is, at the cent. What it cannot know is anything specific to you, so read it as the ordinary case rather than as advice.
Is anything uploaded?
Every figure is worked out in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, there is no sign-up, and no result is stored anywhere but on your own device.
