Which VAT rates apply in France?
The rates in the list are the ones in force for the tax year shown under the result, taken from the official source linked next to the country. Which of them applies to a particular product or service is decided by that country's rules, not by this calculator.
How do I take VAT out of a price?
Divide the gross amount by 1 plus the rate. Subtracting the percentage is the common mistake and gives the wrong answer: at 20 percent, a gross of 120 divided by 1.2 gives a net of 100, whereas taking 20 percent off 120 leaves 96.
How current are these rates?
